On the 22nd of September all our staff members and support group gathered at the Centre to celebrate with the patients the Heritage day. The danced, laughed, prayed together as this was a way of showing the patients that they are loved.

BIBLICAL COUNSELLOR REQUIRED
Nakekela seeks to demonstrate the love of Jesus to people in Tweefontein G, KwaMhlanga, who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS by caring for terminally and chronically ill people with in and outpatient care; and providing training and counselling that strengthens families and increases health seeking behavior in the community.
Nakekela Christian Community Centre Association is seeking for a qualified and experienced Biblical Counsellor who will provide clinical counselling based on biblical principles and, in support of biblical doctrine, be able to address general counselling issues across a broad range of clients. These include being able to help clients with issues such as dealing with stress, loss of loved ones, grief, trauma, conflict resolution, anger, abuse, anxiety management, marital issues, family problems, behavioural and emotional issues and understand the client’s contextual and cultural background. Refer clients to other treatment providers when appropriate, such as medical doctors and/or psychiatrists for medication management or therapists for individual therapy.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participate with clients in prayer as requested by the clients and/or families
• Provide spiritual assessment and support to health care professional staff
• Provide a common spiritual bridge for clients who are facing challenging issues with their health care and need support in decision making
• Provide spiritual support and education to client’s families
• Provide spiritual support based on a Christian perspective
• Teach clients principles related to Christianity when issues come up regarding health care and health decision making
• Assist clients by providing spiritual support and education when they are faced with issues related to death and dying
• Provide counselling in marital issues and family problems.
Other:
• Demonstrate faith in Jesus Christ as defined by the Bible and lived consistently through a godly lifestyle with active participation in a Christian church.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs
• Sensitivity and discernment, Empathy, genuine heart and compassion for others 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12 cert and Degree or Diploma in counselling (or close related field) from an accredited academic institution
• Driver's License is preferred.
• Demonstrate organizational and planning skills, timeliness, information gathering and monitoring skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and excellent listener.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Be willing to work normal hours proactively under pressure and at times on evenings and other days as necessary.

LOADSHEDDING CHALLENGES

Load shedding is severely affecting everyone in South Africa and the Centre is not excepted. Our patients who need attention at all costs, for we have some patients who needs oxygen support. Experiencing power failure due to load shedding is a serious challenge. We have a team of Care workers who diligently work around the clock to provide full support, palliative care and physiotherapy to help to improve the patient's condition.

We have taken an initiative to install at least three small solar panels for the floodlights to boost the Centre with lighting throughout so we can relieve the use of expensive diesel for the generator. More solar energy is still needed to supply the whole Centre

ADMINISTRATION COORDINATOR REQUIRED 
 
Nakekela seeks to demonstrate the love of Jesus to people in Tweefontein G, KwaMhlanga, who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS by caring for terminally and chronically ill people with in and out patient care; and providing training and counselling that strengthens families and increases health seeking behavior in the community.
 
Nakekela Christian Community Centre Association is seeking for a qualified and experienced ADMINISTRATION COORDINATOR.
 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Client Information: Log admission information, ensure that the exit interviews with the patients are done, responsible of filing of patient information in relevant files when discharged or in case of death, coordinate entry of all information into client information system. Enter all patient data and community training data is the client information system
  • Personnel: Noting of staff leaves applications and record keeping, keep job descriptions up to date, assist with the work schedules of Kitchen Workers and Care Workers, assist with arranging replacement for staff not been at work, noting of staff minutes of the meetings, keep record of all statistics needed for monthly reports, keep Policy and Procedures up to date so staff members are able to view it at all times and ensure all staff are aware of policies and procedures.
  • Finance: control of all petty cash and records, banking payments, aware and knowledgeable of all financial reporting, insurance policy available with appropriate coverage with an up to date list of assets
  • Marketing: create awareness concerning Nakekela’s calling in the community. Keep website up to date, blog, Facebook posts, publishing and distribution of a Nakekela Newsletter, Twitter, marketing and advertising.
  • Communications: reception and receive all visitors while directing them to the necessary area, provide visitor tours, assist with fund raising, organisation of events
  • Biblical Counselling and Spiritual Care: do biblical counselling and witness to patients in their own language, do devotions to staff and patients plus teach Care Workers and Home Based Care Workers on how to facilitate these sessions, support staff by presenting counselling and debriefing plus trauma debriefing, make up devotion plans and support staff so they can follow through on the plan.
  • Other: support the Admin Office income generation project. Demonstrate faith in Jesus Christ as defined by the Bible and lived consistently through a godly lifestyle with active participation in a Christian church with a friendly and kind disposition. Follow the mission statement, guiding principles, policies and procedures as well as the code of conduct. Demonstrate organizational and planning skills, timeliness, information gathering and monitoring skills, and attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrate personal initiative, reliability, confidentiality, and communication skills with all levels of personnel. Make decisions, ensure accountability for all issues and manage when issues arise and put solutions in place. Be willing to work normal hours proactively under pressure and at times on evenings and other days as necessary.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Matric with relevant for the duties mentioned above. Drivers Licence is preferred. Friendly personality with excellent interpersonal, customer relations skills and teamwork skills and ability to work independently.

Nakekela Christian Community Centre Association is seeking for a qualified and experienced INCOME GENERATION PROJECTS MANAGER.
 
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Oversees the activities of the workers of each income generation business project
Hires, trains, and evaluates new employees and manages the various teams
Ensures that each business project is on track to meet its financial goals.
Reports to and works closely with the General Manager and the Board.
Develops and implements budgets and reports
Work with the Board in compiling and submitting proposals to potential donors
Together with the Board /Management initiate campaigns of the organisation.
Demonstrate personal initiative, reliability, confidentiality, and communication skills with all levels of personnel. Make decisions, ensure accountability for all issues and manage when issues arise and put solutions in place.
Demonstrate organizational and planning skills, timeliness, information gathering and monitoring skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
This is a full-time position of five days a week and work days will be varied from Monday through Saturday.
Matric and/or BA in business administration, business management or Entrepreneurship training
Prior management positions within various types of businesses
